First time after their return from Olympics, coaches
Belu and assistant Bitang have answered to tens of questions.
For almost three hours, they have answered to (almost) all
important thing that concern now the world of Romanian gymnastics
fans.Yes, they have had received an offer (not from China);did
they expect such a success at Athens? What about Belu contract?
Their (real!) opinion about a private gym school in Romania;what
Belu really want now for him; their explication on China gymnastics
team failures.

[23.08] Oana Ban, out of tonight finals
Again, Oana Ban will not take part into finals.Despite the
doctors gave the ok even for last week competition (AA finals),
our sources say that Oana still have big pains on her leg
and also is scared about consequences on trying to push her
luck. The problem at her leg is older and was just started
over again at the end of her floor exercise, during team contest.
Last weekend Oana was suffering a lot, physical and mental,
about not being in the AA final. She declined any media request
for photos (not ours, we didn't asked for) with her (taking
care of her leg or anything else).
She was trying hard to go for a medal this evening but the
final decision was up to her, coach Belu said he don't want
any more being under accusations of "pushing girls" into contest,
when they have medical problems. Our feeling (after seeing
her TV interviews and her very reserved attitude in answering
questions) was since last Friday that she will not compete
any more. Now, it's official, she is not listed for this evening.

Romanian TV viewers have, for the first time, a good commentary

like in the past with other gym stars) anchor during Games.

Raducan:
I want my Sydney Gold medal back!
Last minute report from Athens says that Andreea Raducan have
asked officially the International Olympic Committee to return

Andreea Raducan, first TV feature report
from Athens
[11.08]"Bine v-am gasit!"("nice to meet you"), said Andreea
Raducan in front of TV camera, starting her first feature
report from Athens at Romanian National Television. Well,
being a reporter is something differently, as Raducan already
experienced from her very first interview. Knocking on the
door of Romanian Olympic Team , she experienced a little bit
of retain fro her former colleagues. "What do you have on
your hand? Asked, in a happy mood, Mrs.Bitang, the second
coach. (Raducan having the TV anchor microphone). "Wow, said
Raducan , you don't let me in now anymore?.. I'm still one
of yours!"... Well, Andreea, the feature reporter life is
not much easier than the one of a champion, except the champions
are always loved. Reporters are respected, at best....Good
luck, Andreea!
[11.08] Nadia Comaneci: Catalina
Ponor for Gold!
"Even if we have a young team, I'm convinced we (Romania)
will make a good job at Athens.Catalina Ponor have big

Nadia Comaneci, the world's most famous gymnast, in an interview
for "Athens Olympic Games 2004", a special, largest circulation
ever (650 000 copies) supplement edited in Romania by the
local division of Ringier (the largest local editing house)
and distributed for free along with the Group newspapers.

Dragulescu have big chances for at least two medals.

World's first in Bucharest:
The Olympics commercial
[08.08/ 19,30/ GMT 17,30] Few minutes
ago, Romanian TV station "Antena1" have aired, for
the first time (world exclusive), the Athens Official advertisement.
The 4-minutes length video was made few weeks ago in Bucharest.
Pianist Maxine, the world's fastest, play a special melody
(remembering little bit of "Adeline" song ). All the images
are from Bucharest: old, (200 years) historical commercial
famous "Lipscani", the Free Press House, Covaci street-famous
for her old architecture.
Indoors were made inside "Sala Palatului"-the place where
former dictator Ceausescu used to keep his party conferences.
Monday, august 9, the movie will be aired first in Taiwan
where the pianist Maxine is said to have most fans; from Tuesday,
the movie will be aired by Greeks Televisions. Both music
and images are great to see and hear!
[08.08] Andreea Raducan at
Athens
Andreea Raducan will be in Athens as special guest of Romanian
National (State) Television, TVR, to make comments during
gymnastics events. You can see her, if you don't go to Athens,
by watching live TVRi (International) channel (available almost
worldwide, free of charge if you have you own satellite dishes),
or see on-line, on www.tvr.ro web site.
Depart in tears:
Andreea
Munteanu stays,
Silvia
Stroescu goes to Athens [02.08]
TVR 2 (Romanian 2nd State television) has aired Sunday evening
some nice images with Romanian Gymnastic Olympic team, going
for a horse ride in a private Club near Bucharest. Belu went
on a horse, seems to be used to, but Mrs. Bitang was not seen
doing this.
Ponor:"is very nice for us, after training, to
have some good moments here." Belu said to girls "you
should have no problems on a horse, you are used to keep your
balance at highs", but girls answered that yes, they
are used to keep their balance, but is more difficult on a...real
horse."
All girls looks happy, most of them spoke in front of cameras
and seems to be very confident. It seems to be the best team
for Olympics since '80's . In the meantime, all other Sports
programs of Romanian TV channels are stuffed with soccer,
as they just started the new season. They "remind"
about gymnastics, the most unanimously loved (since Nadia)
sport in Romania, only when they return with medals...
