[April 1st] Nadia
Comaneci will have three daughters!
Three years of hopes, a top secret fertility treatment in
a Bucharest private clinic, and now the NY doctors have confirmed
yesterday: the most loved athlete in history, Nadia Comaneci,
is pregnant (second month) and will have not one, but three
daughters!
"This
is the 'problem' with these treatments" -a Bucharest
doctor told us last evening."You can get more that you
wish for...may want one bay and get three in a row; but our
fee is a flat one, but since most of cases give birth to twins,
we may thing about changing our policy"-said exclusively
for romanian-gymnastics.com same doctor, known as "the
2000's baby's Father".
Since all three are girls, we may expect that at least one
of them to follow Nadia's career as a gymnast.Thousands of
fans around the world have hoped for such an event, but only
few persons have known the real reasons for Nadia's many trips
to Bucharest par years: her treatment and hopes for a girl.
If the present rules regarding the gymnast
minimum ages for the Olympics will get lower in future, we
may see one of Nadia's daughter at 2020 Olympics; if they
keep the present rules, only at 2024 Games. Definitely, something
to be seen.
Update: of course, the above story was an April 1st joke...maybe
more than a joke, it raised questions and hopes; hope (and
heard) it helped somehow, "somebody" to take a good
decision.

Comaneci, Bart Conner Expecting First Child
AP/ The United States could have a ringer for the 2024 Olympics.
Gold-medal gymnasts Nadia
Comaneci and Bart Conner announced Tuesday they're expecting
a baby, a boy due in July. It's the first child for Comaneci,
44, and Conner, who turns 48 next month. "It's a new chapter
in our lives. I'm happy," Comaneci
told The Associated Press. "It kind of makes my life and Bart's
life and our family's lives complete."The birth of their child
will come 10 years after Comaneci
and Conner were married, and 30 years after Comaneci
scored the first perfect 10 in Olympic history. Her seven
perfect 10s at the Montreal Games captivated the world, and
she appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated, Newsweek
and Time in the same week. She won nine medals at the Montreal
and Moscow Games, five of them gold. Conner was a double gold
medalist at the 1984 Olympics.
