[August 10] Alexandra
Eremia had appendicitis operation
The Romanian State TVR1 has announced that
Alexandra
Eremia, member of the Athens Gold Team, had an appendicitis
operation today.
[August 11] According to romanian-gymnastics.com hospital
sources, Alexandra's operation did well and she was feeling
good today; she get many phone calls from friends and colegues
who were worried about her after the TV news report.
A sport doctor specialist has advised us about the normal
recovery (without major effort) time after such an operation
is between four to six months!
In previous cases (like Gogean in Atlanta), former gymnasts
were asked to compete even one month after the operation (which
may cause long term negative consequences).
We hope Alex will recover well and still be
able to compete at Worlds.
