[June 27] Romanian
gymnastics : it's exams time!
Alexandra
Eremia was the first to start, earlier today, the exams
sessions for the Romanian gymnastics (Olympic) team. Alex
get a 10 on the Romanian language exam, and if you looks how
fast she talks during TV interviews, like this afternoon on
Antena1 , you can easy understand that she have no problems
with speaking fluently.

Next days will be more difficult for Alexandra, because the
next exams are written ones, but since none of former Deva
team member has ever had problems... (a little or more overscored
is expected, like on any competition at home....but since
they are the most loved & admired in the country, nobody
want to be hard with them).

This is why is so important for any girl to stay at Deva until
they finish their school, because in other high schools they
can have some problems passing the exams.
Later today Floarea Leonida will have her
exam, too; she is a popular girl and, despite having a strange
career at the team, she is still loved at Deva and good results
are expected for her, too.
Unfortunately, when speaking about "real" school
tests -the 8th grade have had a standard National test around
the country, things are different: both Sandra Izbasa and
Loredana Sauca failed to pass the tests; like them, 40% of
the country students-maybe the tests were too difficult or
children don't like anymore to learn (but who like....)
The Romanian school system is still mostly
based on the old communist one, with students being asked
to memorize hundreds of pages...easy to forget after the exams
passes; the teachers are low paid and they don't show much
interest. In "regular"high schools (the ones where
you don't get high marks simply for doing top sports) parents
have to spend top money for private classes of their children-to
be sure they pass exams and have real chances for University.
Girls came to Deva with coach Lucian
Sandu; finally we have found his real job
at team-since there are no UB (his apparatus) for girls, maybe
his job is to escort girls and be the B&B's "trusted
boy" around. Good enough, but maybe they can bring a
real coach for UB sooner.
Tomorrow afternoon another former member of
the team will have her exams- Oana Petrovschi. Hmm...strange
enough for her former colleagues to see Oana P. driving her
car in Deva, the one she get from the Ardaf settlement. In
the meantime, the TVR1 advertisement of that company have
started to be aired again, with girls featuring in it... which
get nothing for their personal use (B&B get cars, RGF
a small bus for girls). You may say life is not fair...
