[March 12] Marian
Dragulescu has left the team trial
Marian
Dragulescu has left the team trial this morning, after
competing only at vault and floor exercise. He was late on
the trial, too.
"I have proved already that I'm a good gymnast, don't
think I need to pass same trials as these new gymnasts. I'm
more talented than anyone here.", says Dragulescu
at the exit from the trial hall.
After training two days with the girls team,
Marian spend past two weeks training at his club team, "Dinamo"
Bucharest.
"He has to obey to the team rules and
our team program. His exercises, both vault and floor, were
having only a 9.90 value, we have had today many 10.0 exercises
here."-said main coach Dan Grecu.
Being known as a very severe coach, (not Bitang
alike with insults, but still severe one), a member of the
"old guard"of coaches who does not take easy any
complain or request from gymnasts, Dan Grecu seems to be determined
to clear things between him and any "rebel" from
the team. Having already the four years contract with ROC
for the next Olympics, Grecu main goal is to have new seniors
entering the team, to have more options for the 2008 team.
The 2005 "secret" goals of both
teams-women and mens- confirmed by our (well informed) sources,
are not the contests being held this year, but to have the
selection of most of the 2008 Olympics team member.
Despite Dragulescu
past results, Grecu doesn't seems to see him fitting in the
2008 team, so there is no point for him to tolerate any "rebel"
attitudes from him.
"If he wants to still train with the
Olympic Team, he has to train with them. I expect him to come
at team Monday morning and will see about the details"-said
coach Dan Grecu.
