Dragulescu is training with the girls team
[March 1] After a dispute with coach Dan Grecu, male gymnast
Marian Dragulescu have started to train with the girls team,
coached by Mariana Bitang.
"He asked me to do a complete floor exercise
and I didn't want to do this- said Dragulescu, for Romanian
Antena 1 .
"These new, younger guys have came on the team and I
can't keep training along with them", Dragulescu said
for Romanian ProTv..
"He may need to have longer hair, to train along with
our girls"-Bitang joke on TVR1.
"He is completely out of shape"-said
coach Dan Grecu;"we have a contest-alike check on their
performances, on March 12; if he will be ready by then, he
will join the team again; until then, maybe is better if he
train with only one coach instead of few.
The girls have received Marian with much joy
and fun, apparently; but deep inside, there was a kind of
shame in the past, when the girls have trained in same gym
hall as the male team; girls were using to wear over-clothes
to mask some teen new "shapes", which have started
to appear at most of them; also at the cloakrooms they use
to be carefully not to disturb each others...
Marian Dragulescu was seen by most of the
girls from the Romanian gymnastics as their un-official "syndicate-alike"
leader, being the only one who speak in some occasions in
the benefit of athletes.This may be a weak point for Bitang,
a coach well known for her verbal abuses, her training session
with the girls team being seasoned with "fat cows";
"stupid girls", "timpite", "idiot"
and so on. Just wonder if she (will dare to) use same "compliments"with
Marian training nearby.
For the B&B's , this is just another opportunity to "pay-back"
coach Dan Grecu, the only one which not only have denied to
take any percentage from his men's team prizes (unlike Belu
which have asked for the 30% "gift tax" imposed
to the girls), but Grecu also have spoke recently about this
at a press conference in terms like: "I never wanted
to take any money from the athletes I train; they have families
and the life is hard, they badly need all those money the
hardly get." A huge 10 for (not doing) this, Mr.Dan
Grecu!
