RGF
General Meeting-discussing about the team dissolution
RGF will have a General Meeting on March 25,
where latest events, including the girls getting fired yesterday,
are on the meeting agenda.
Important decisions are expected, regarding the new senior
women's team and the "distribution" of the current
17 girls in training for 2008 Olympics over the three National
training centers (Onesti, Deva and Bucharest).
Octavian Belu have returned last week at the team for a day
only , but he was in permanent control all this time, giving
all his instructions over the phone to Bitang and posing in
the meantime as a "visitor"when he came in the gym
hall. Past days, Belu went (over the head of RGF) to the ROC
and gave to them his training plans (a part of them), these
documents being needed by ROC to have a legal base for signing
his new contract. The Petrovschi case is almost close, so
Belu hopes for his return before the end of this month.
Yesterday, the official statements of RGF General Secretary
Stoica (for the TV news) speak about "Belu not having
any steps to us regarding his return." This is true,
but new Belu have learned his lesson and, having the support
of ROC, he went over the RGF officials heads and gave directly
to ROC his training plans, to be sure of his return with no
other delays. In the meantime, since these plans were not
seen/approved by RGF, they can simply reject him as the coach,
because RGF have the final word on girls training.
If the RGF will discuss in the next Friday session about who
will be the next National Coach, there is a big chance that
many delegates from the local Clubs will not vote for Belu,
seeing that this is one of their rare (and last before 2008
Olympics) chance to get (finally) rid of B&B. It could
be the B&B's Black Friday. A lot of people (and many former
athletes) pry for this, I know for sure.
