The secret behind Catalina's bad mood at Worlds: her medical problems

A Romanian sport tabloid (Prosport) has revealed the main cause of Catalina's bad mood at Worlds: she was in her "bad days" and first time when she has to compete, despite that.

I have to remind you that due to the hard training, any girl doing gymnastics didn't have her period come until...18 years or so. Apart from facing a high pressure from the Romanian public and the whole World, Catalina was facing her own young female body confronting her. It was the first time she had to compete, despite this situation. In the end, we can only appreciate her for the effort, since she was the only (WAG) Romanian Athens Olympic champion to compete at Worlds.

This is why I say the Romanian gymnastics has produced real "Stars" (who glows up even after Olympics), rather than Karoly-US gymnastics, which rather produce..."comets": their girls shine (mostly) once, at Olympics, after that they disappear from the Sky of gymnastics.
Of course, both types are nice to see and enrich the Sky...

"Prosport", Nov 29:În perioada delicata! Semiesecul Catalinei Ponor la CM are si unele cauze medicale. “Cu câteva zile înainte de calificari i-a venit ciclul. Era pentru prima oara într-o astfel de situatie la o competitie mare si s-a simtit foarte rau”, a declarat unul dintre membrii delegatiei tricolore. Ea nu a scapat de probleme nici în finala de la bârna, unde nu a putut sa-si faca exercitiul asa cum trebuia.
