EXCLUSIVE! American gymnast training in Romania
Atlanta,
Georgia, US
...They (US) took your coaches, they took our former Champions;
it's time now for Romanian gymnastics to take their gymnast!
:-). If we manage to use their Champion-Winner-spirit
gymnasts and train with our top coaching, that would be the
Gold receipt of ancient Alchemists!
A 6-years old gymnast- Olivia from Atlanta, Georgia,
is moving with her family in Romania and will take gymnastics
classes with top Romanian coaches. Her mother was so kind
to answer our questions and to arrange for exclusive photos
for us..
(Q=question; A=answer)
Q: How come that you are moving to Romania? It's a job-related
thing?
A: My husband is an executive in a large multinational
company that has operations in Bucharest. It is his job that
brings us to Bucharest.
Q: Since when does your daughter Olivia started
gymnastics?
A: Olivia started Gymnastics at 2 years old in
a "Mommy and Me" class. These
classes are really popular in the US It is a great activity
for new moms and their toddlers. Olivia loved the class so
we let her continue to train in Gymnastic classes. Now she
is 6 years old.

sessions before leaving for Romania
Q: Does Olivia know anything about Romanian gymnasts?
A: She didn't when we first told her about
moving to Romania. She had never even heard of Romania. We
quickly told her about Nadia Comaneci and all the excellent
Gymnasts that come from Romania. She was then really excited
about moving to Romania and potentially working with the Romanian
Coaches.
Q: What do you know about Romania?
A: I was the same as my daughter when my husband
told me we were moving to Bucharest, Romania. I new very little
about the city or country. I started doing some research on
the Internet but it wasn't until I visited Romania that I
got a true sense of the people and the country. Romania is
so beautiful and the people are so kind. I went from being
overwhelmed at the idea of moving to Romania to looking forward
to the move. I think Romania is going to be a wonderful experience
for me and my family.
Q: What would you like to visit in Romania?
A: I am anxious to explore the mountains, the
Black Sea, and Transylvania. What makes Bucharest so great
is that you are close to both the mountains and the sea. I
am looking forward to our weekends in Romania.
Q: Do you think that your girl will benefit from moving
to Romania, by training with top coaches?
A: Absolutely! It is an opportunity of a life time.
Q: Did your move to Romania was made easier because
your girl will have the chance to be coached by Romanian coaches,
known as one of the best?
A: One of the first things our friends and family would
say when we told them we were moving to Romania was "How
great for Olivia! Romania is known for their Gymnastics. She
will receive the best training in the world!" As a mother,
it made the decision to move to Romania so much easier. I
knew this move was not only going to benefit me and my husband
but my girls would also benefit from doing a sport they love
in a country famous for Gymnastics.
Q: How did you heard about our site?
A: I was desperately searching for gymnastic lessons
for Olivia. Ironically, it has been difficult finding a gym
for her since she is not Romanian. I knew that gyms had to
exist, I just did not know how to get her into one. I was
searching the Internet and found your website. You had an
e-mail address to ask questions through so I sent an e-mail
asking for assistance. Thanks to you and your website, doors
have started to open for my daughter. You have been great
and so helpful.
Q: What did you know about Nadia Comaneci?
A:I grew up wanting to be Nadia. I knew she was Romanian
and the best Gymnast of my time. I think every little girl
who took gymnastics wanted to be Nadia. It is awesome to think
that my daughter will now train in her country and with the
caliber of coaches that trained Nadia.
Q: How long are you planning to stay
in Romania? Do you have friends/relatives there?
A:We will be in Romania probably between 3-6 years.
You just never know. We know no one in Romania but
the people are so nice, I know we will develop lasting relationship
during our time in Romania.
Photo right: the Champion-alike, winner mentality is cultivated
step by step in US; something Romanian coaches still dream
about
Q:
If Olivia will be selected for the National team, would you
let her compete in the Romanian National Team?
A:Wow! That is an honor and opportunity I never
considered for my daughter. I think it is a bridge we would
cross when and if we come to it.

wish on some Atlanta streets. Little things can make a difference.
Last
minute update: Olivia's family has requested from the Romanian
coach to schedule gymnastics lessons (both with the team and
private) for the youngest girl (3 years old), too .
