[Jan 13] Monica Rosu
has retired, still missing the Worlds
Monica
Rosu has retired and announced herself this sad moment,
during an interview for Antena 1 TV aired this afternoon.
Monica
Rosu (blonde, long hair) said that she was disappointed
for not having a chance to compete at Worlds. Her plans are
to focus on school and will go to University; she still want
to be around the gymnastics world.
Monica
Rosu's mother gave a separate interview to the TV station,
saying that is her strong belief that if coaches Octavian
Belu and Mariana
Bitang were still in places for Worlds, all the girls
from the team would have a chance to go there and also they
would won "many medals."
[ This is her opinion, to say the truth B&B have gone
by themselves, nobody have dared to remove then, they just
quit; also B&B have said back then that the girls have
had, for a long time, serious weight problems and they didn't
had any hopes to be back in shape]
Exclusive r-g.com interview:
r-g.com: hello Monica, how are you?
Monica
Rosu: Very well, thank you.
r-g.com: Can you confirm the news about your retirement?
Monica
Rosu: Yes, I'm done with doing gymnastics.
r-g.com: We know that you wanted to be trained by B&B;
why don't you wait to see if they will open the new "B&B
Gymnastics Academy"? It would be your chance for you
to try the Worlds...
Monica
Rosu: I've heard about the new (maybe) Gymnastics Academy
last days, but I don't think I will continue.
r-g.com: Advice: don't get too deep into the chocolate &
"sarmale" , at least not yet, until you will be
sure about this decision.
Monica
Rosu: (like laughing) No, I'm already above the "chocolate
stage", doesn't interest me so much (any) more.
r-g.com: But you can try for few weeks, if coaches Octavian
Belu and Mariana
Bitang will ask you to come at their new Gymnastics Academy.
Monica
Rosu: ...(thinking more) Don't know what to say, but for
now I don't think about doing gymnastics (as becoming a referee
or something); being around yes, but not doing myself.
r-g.com: maybe RGF will offer you something to return to gym,
like a Rolls or something, since the chocolate doesn't interest
you so much, I will not say a truck of finest chocolate (after
retirement, of course).
Monica
Rosu: Yeah, a Rolls?...(laughing). No, I'm not so precious,
at least not so much.
r-g.com: Your fans may think so, as far as we know you are
one of the most beloved Romanian gymnast from the Golden Team. They
like your gymnastics a lot and dream about seeing you competing
this year, too.
Monica
Rosu: Didn't know that.
r-g.com: I will suggest to Romanian gymnastics fans to send
more "encouragement letters" or "Keep going"
next time, if they want their idol to stay around little more.
We have few thousands messages for you which we had received;
will have to mail them to you (and 90% of them are love related
statements from all over the World)
Monica
Rosu: So many?...
r-g.com: Yeah, you rated second on this, after Catalina
Ponor. Can you help us to... help your worldwide fans
and provide a fan mail address?
Monica
Rosu: yes, you can print the address...[edited to wait
for legal clearances]
r-g.com: I hope your Mom will not be disturbed or angry when
you will get huge bags of mail (and most of them being cute
childish loving messages)?
Monica
Rosu: (laughing) No, it will be fine; we are getting used
with this.
r-g.com: Thanks for answering. Wish you Good Luck at school
and all the best!
Monica
Rosu: Thanks, bye!
