-The City of Gold- waterless!
A major failure into the city of Deva water system
has left the 65,000 people waterless until tomorrow! The local
hospital will use the fire emergency reserve for most urgent
needs, TV Antena1 said. Romanian gymnastics team will use

Nicolae Forminte how they handle the situation
at the Romanian gymnastics team: "Just finished the
morning training; didn't know about this, thanks for telling
us it will last so long?...Until tomorrow. We shall store
as much water as we can into our Jacuzzi from what we can
still get from the pipes and later...will "wash from
the bottle" ; for drinking needs will use mineral water
from local shops. Will find a solution to bring more water
tanks if will be needed." Well, at least mineral
water is good for skin :-)
Despite being "media-hungry" Deva city mayor
Mircia Muntean (the -too large- photo of him on city's
website speaks for itself about promoting himself and
the continuing Ceausescu's or Saddam's "Cultul personalitatii"),
past record of using any opportunity to appear in front of
TV cameras, he didn't show up to explain the situation, inform
citizens or managing the distribution of water supplies through
alternate methods (water tanks from fire stations or whatever).
Romanian State TVR1 showed people with canisters
on miles-long lines, waiting to fill their canisters with
water from natural sources nearby Deva. Two other small cities
are also waterless because a tens years old pipe has broke;
it's a common practice in Romania for local companies who
supply water to increase their prices but to make no investments
into the system.
Deva, the city of Gold - Gold from gymnastics and huge
ancient thesaurus which keeps being discovered in Deva region-
is waterless today.
