  PARIS – Marian Dragulescu has confirmed his status as King of The World Gymnastics but Sandra Izbasa had an surprisingly modest debut this year at the season-opening World Cup gymnastics competition Sunday in Paris-Bercy.
    Vanessa Ferrari of Italy took her revenge over Romanian gymnastics team and especially Romanian coach Nicolae Forminte which lashed out at the judges at the World Gymnastics Championships in Aarhus last October. "Apparently you have to fall off an apparatus in order to become world champion. It's laughable," he told reporters back then. "In the whole history of gymnastics, it never happened that a gymnast who falls won the world title." Although he later tried some kind of excuses (see our Report), I bet he wished today to be anywhere else but not nearby Ferrari...
   After few months of avoiding facing the competitors (Romanian gymnasts didn't compete in major events since Worlds) main coach Nicolae Forminte may face hard criticism if his girls will not get better results at European Championships. His position as main coach at National team can be gone before summer, if he can't deliver what he promised: top results.
   Just hope (and will check better this time) that the heavy pressure on his shoulders during next weeks will not be again an excuse for any physical or verbal abuses at the Romanian Gymnastics National team. Our new Wall of Shame has unlimited places and is 24/7 opened...
