General Interest
Dan Grecu started his gymnastics career in Bucharest with coach Mircea Badulescu. His first success was in Grenoble at the European Championships in 1973. He won the silver medal on rings. During his career, his favourite apparatus were the rings, but he also won good results at all-around competitions (5th place at 1975 European Championships in Bern SUI).

Many times National Champion on different apparatus, he won all his titles with the Dinamo Bucuresti.

At the 1976 Olympics in Montreal, he suffered an injury at the right arm, but he competed for the final on rings and won the bronze!
At Moscow Olympics, same injury! He competed but won no medal.
