Athens,
August 20, 2004 According to the announcement released by
the FIG late on August 19, President and IOC Member, Prof.
Bruno Grandi, invited his Executive Committee Members to attend
an extraordinary meeting, on Friday August 20, at 11:00 am.
At this meeting, it was unanimously decided that the FIG will
proceed to the immediate analysis of the Men’s All-Around
competition. In the case that judging errors have occurred,
appropriate steps will be made immediately.(official info
from FIG).

on the landing of his vault during the men's gymnastics individual
all-around final at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Wednesday,
Aug. 18, 2004. (AP Photo/Sasha Zemlianichenko). Well, judges
were very kind with him, way too much, Koreans said.
Our sources said that four diffrent countries
have complained agains judging, the U.S. winner receiving
"way too much" help from judges. The official meeting
was not ended even at 18.00 G.M.T.The women's competition
was also mentioned, some U.S. competitors names were given
as examples, too-but since there is no official complain on
this, only the men contest is under investigation.During women
AA competition, Romanian coach Belu wanted to leave the hall
after Sofronie being underscored, but nowbody is allowed to
leave the place before the end of competition. After last
evolution, Belu left the hall, (as a protest) leaving the
girls with the team doctor.
This time, at least, it seems that the ridiculous situation
from swimming will not be repeated and the justice will be
done and this edition of (Mc)Athens, Coke-Olympics Games,
will continue in a more honest way as it was until now.
