[March 14] Marian
Dragulescu is back at team training
Marian
Dragulescu has returned at team for training, after 10
days of training with girls team (two days) and at his former
Club "Dinamo" , with the male team.
"I have had a private talk with my coach
Dan Grecu and we have solved our problem" -Dragulescu
told to the press Monday after his first training session.
Last Friday, Dragulescu was still mad on the
"injustice made to him", because coach Dan Grecu
"have pushed me out of team, after four years of a very
good track record of medals on my part, at my first *mistake*
- refusing to do a whole floor exercise with all the difficult
elements. At my age, there is a problem of proper using my
efforts to do what is most important; I'm not any more a Junior,
I know what I have to do and I did bring more medals past
four years than Mr.Grecu in his whole career'- Dragulescu
told to TV crews and journalists.
Dan Grecu is being known at a very severe
coach (a B&B combination alike); he was enough honest
NOT to impose any "gift tax" on men's revenues (like
the 30% tax imposed by Belu at women team); even when he was
asked [by RGF officials and others, as suggested] to do so-according
to his public statements at a recent press conference.
Because of his "rebel" attitude,
Marian Dragulescu was punished in the past by having retained
some (undisclosed) amounts from his
ROC monthly allowances. "I will check this time when
receiving the allowance, if I will get fined again; this time
I will ask for the reason", said Dragulescu two weeks
ago, at the beginning of this last conflict.
Seems like coach Dan Grecu, instead of using bad words to
punish the team members (like B&B at women team)-Grecu
couldn't anyway, since he works with mature men instead of
little girls-use the " pay the fines" method. Still,
another disputable method, a mixture of dictator from the
"old school of coaching" and the newer, more "capitalist"
, money-linked, ones.
Dan Grecu have his position secured as National
Team coach for 2008 Olympics, having his contract with ROC
concluded last month. By contrary, Marian Dragulescu and other
fellow mates doesn't have their contracts signed with RGF,
which means their future at the team is uncertain. However,
having the new elections at RGF next year, some things may
change, just in time for next Olympics.
