[April 6] Olympic champions donated clothes for charity auction

BUCHAREST/ Olympic champions and Romanian gymnastics stars Andreea Raducan and Monica Rosu donated some of their clothes at a Charity auction for the benefit of Romanian athletes in need. The auction was organized by the Romanian National Sport Agency, headed by Octavian Belu, the former coach of the Romanian gymnastics team.

Andreea Raducan, the Romanian gymnastics star which has attracted a huge sympathy during Sydney Games after being asked to return her Olympic medal (found positive at drug test) , offered her gymnastics costume from Sydney Games; it was sold with 35mil. Lei, around $1500.
The T-shirt used by Romanian gymnast Monica Rosu during the warm up at Athens Olympic Games was sold with 16 mil. Lei, around $700.
Romanian gymnasts has recently got more involved in charity events, a new phenomenon in Romania, one of the poorest European countries. 
Using a licensed program famous in West, "dancing for You", The Romanian TV station ProTV will have a live charity dance contest tonight, where Corina Ungureanu, a former Romanian gymnastics (and Playboy...) Star will compete to raise funds for a charity.

On Sunday, same ProTV station will broadcast a special recorded edition of same show, featuring Nadia Comaneci herself, performing a traditional Moldavian dance, wearing a rare 120 years old popular costume. She recently bought a $2000 painting at a Bucharest charity auction and has offered 1-year long bourses to the young gymnasts from CSS 2 Bucharest gymnastics Club.
