"Gianni" was the product of School Club N° 2 in Bucharest, making her first steps in gymnatics with coach Lucia Marcu and Mihai Demetrescu.
She was a slim, tall gymnast, very pleasant to look at.
She liked all the events the same, though she excelled in vaulting and floor.
Eugenia Golea retired in 1989; she joined her brother in a an acrobatic act in the circus; in 1991 she joined a Puerto Rico circus; three months later she became head coach for the Puerto Rico team then returned to the circus a year later.
She now coaches and choreographs gymnastics at American Gymnastics in Bedford Hills, NY.
Affectionately known as "Geanie," she is leading a happy life in America.
